NORTH SHORE – Once an obsessive fisherman, Jocelyn Leblanc is now the most ardent defender of salmon and its rivers. No one knows the salmon and rivers of the North Shore like Jocelyn Leblanc. Through the creation of a salmon fly in his workshop in Baie-des-Homards, the former fishing guide revisits his past. From his lifelong discovery of fly fishing as a child in New Brunswick to his years as a "salmon bum" on the rivers of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador, Jocelyn Leblanc tells us how he fell in love with the Pentecôte River on the North Shore. It is there that he chose to settle and where he began his transformation into a passionate advocate for the preservation of salmon, an increasingly precarious resource.
